Photos capture Disability Day 2015

1) Special / Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities / Disability rights advocates recently participated in the 17th annual Disability Day at the Capitol in downtown Atlanta, hosted by the Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities. Nearly 1,500 individuals with disabilities, family members, friends and supporters withstood gusty winds and chilling rain to show unity and support of legislation that will promote the independence, inclusion, productivity and self-determination of people with disabilities. The theme of this year’s Disability Day Rally was ‘Fulfilling the promise of the Americans with Disabilities Act,’ to mark 25 years since passage of this landmark disability rights legislation.
