IPSE Digital Media Internship Program

About the Program:

Claritas Creative’s digital communications team is looking to fill one internship position for the Fall 2022 semester. Students with an interest in pursuing a career in media, including marketing, public relations, photography, videography, graphic design, publishing, or other digital media focus are encouraged to apply.

This IPSE Digital Media Internship Program is designed to provide opportunities for students with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) to explore their interests and gain experience in the diverse media field. This inclusive program has a focus on training and skills development with the aim of providing a meaningful and successful internship experience. The selected applicant will work with a diverse team of communications professionals with and without IDD on projects that support the Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities (GCDD).

This internship consists of a flexible schedule of 3 hours of independent course work and 1 hour of live virtual training per week for approximately eight weeks. Upon successful completion of the internship program, the intern will receive a stipend of $900.

Position Title: Digital Media Intern

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in Inclusive Post-Secondary Education (IPSE) in Georgia
  • Expressed interest in entering the field of digital media upon completion of IPSE

General Responsibilities:

  • Develop work plan with supervisor based on student’s interest area
  • Assist in creation of publications, including digital magazines, web content, or related area
  • Complete reflection assignment at conclusion of internship

Requirements:

  • Access to computer with internet
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word
  • Experience using Zoom

Internship Program: September 12-December 2, 2022
Internship Reflections: December 5-9, 2022

Digital media includes media, marketing, public relations, communications, writing, photography, videography, graphic design, publishing, or related areas.     • Essay Question: What digital media focus are you interested in pursuing and why?
  • Applicants may attach up to two letters of recommendation to the online form as a Word Document or PDF file. Letters of recommendation are optional and not required.
  • Applicants may include contact information for up to two references. References are optional and not required.
