Call to Advocates!

Advocates!

It is crunch time. Two bills that GCDD supports are up for vote on Monday morning. We need you to take five minutes to either make a phone call or send an email today.

Even if you cannot call today, send an email this weekend.

1. Your Senator: Tell your Senator that you support the Family Care Act, SB 201, because it will allow employees who work at least 30 hours a week to use up to 5 days of their earned sick leave to care for a family member. It will be up for a vote on Monday in the Senate and we need everyone to vote Yes!

2. Your Representative: Tell your Representative that you support HB 343, which would update Georgia code by changing the offensive "mr" to intellectual disability. It will be up for vote on Monday in the House of Representatives and we need everyone to vote Yes!

We need your help to get this passed. Please take the time to make both phone calls or send an email.

And if you can, please come on Tuesday to our Advocacy Day. We are in crunch time as Crossover Day, March 4, approaches fast. We need all the help we can get to ensure our bills pass into the other chamber by Crossover Day. Remember, if a bill does not pass into the other chamber by Crossover Day, the bill is dead until next year.
