In Georgia, an estimated 878,000 workers do not have access to family care days to care for a loved one in need, forcing them to make the impossible choice between taking care of a sick loved one and keeping food on the table. That's why we need to pass the Family Care Act! The Community Leadership Academy is a 2-4 hour training that will equip participants to effectively lobby and advocate for the passage of the Family Care Act; a statewide bill that will allow workers to use earned sick time to care for their family members.

What will you learn at this training?

  • The impact of the Family Care Act
  • How a bill becomes a law
  • Tips for meeting with legislators
  • Media messaging skills

All training sessions are free and open to the public.
