Time Ticking for Death Row Man - GCDD Adds to Mounting Voices to Save Warren Hill from Death Sentence

GCDD's Executive Director, Eric E. Jacobson, offers an expanded perspective from the disability community to the mounting chorus urging the Georgia Supreme Court to reconsider Warren Hill's July 18th execution. Jacobson's editorial opinion piece was published Tuesday in the Daily Report. To read the article, click here. (This link is no longer active.)

Jacobson's opinion piece joins the ground swell from other journalists and legal minds, most notably the New York Times in a July 6th editorial titled "An Urgent Plea for Mercy," which leads with the following strong but accurate statement: "The Supreme Court banned the death penalty for mentally retarded offenders a decade ago, but Georgia apparently has not gotten the message."
