The Embracing Possibility exhibit aims to redefine how people with disabilities are seen in society. The exhibit is now open to the public at the Tubman Museum in Macon, Georgia. It runs from now until June 16, 2026.
Waddie Welcome and the Beloved Community Quilt by Beth MountThe exhibit showcases courage, creativity, and the historic contributions made by people with intellectual disabilities and their allies. This exhibit highlights the rich history of disability justice in Georgia and beyond. It invites visitors to explore the strength and potential of individuals with intellectual disabilities, their families, and communities. Each experience reveals a unique source of power, encourages creative and courageous action, and leaves visitors transformed by a new understanding of what's possible.
Embracing Possibility showcases the impact of people with disabilities on the world, revealed through each of the following compelling scenarios and interactive areas:

The Tubman Museum is located at 310 Cherry Street Macon, GA 31201. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday

Being an Artist in Voting and Civic Engagement: Derek and Teresa Heard will guide a discussion on using creativity for civic change. Explore identity, artistry, and activism - and bring your questions for a community Q&A on how to engage meaningfully in today's work. 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
