Department of Community Health Board Meeting-July 14, 2011: Proxy Caregiver Rules approved!

The Proxy Caregiver Rules (111-9-100) were approved this morning at the Department of Community Health Board Meeting.  And, here’s what else happened:

1.) Reduce funds for Medicaid and PeachCare reimbursement rates by .5% for all providers, excluding hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home and community based services, federally qualified health centers, rural health clinics and hospice-this was approved, though there was one nay.

2.) Copayments for Medicaid and New Copayments for PeachCare for Kids Members-approved.

3.) Hospital Services Public Notice from May was rescinded.  This included: “Medicaid Care Management Organizations will also decrease their per unit add-on reimbursement rates from 11.88% to 10.49% for their contracted, noncritical access hospital providers for inpatient and outpatient hospital services provided between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2013 to more precisely recognize additional costs associated with the new provider fees imposed by the Provider Payment Act in the Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids programs” (so the 11.88% rate will be maintained).
